New Zealand – 22 days, 3000+ km adventure in a motorhome

Below is the list of places our touring adventure from the North Island and South Island took us.

Transport around New Zealand

Our transport around the island, a Kea 4-Berth motorhome picked up in Auckland (North Island) and dropped off in Christchurch (South Island).

Travelling around New Zealand is easy in a motorhome, all Holiday parks are welcoming, and shopping centres have specific parking.

You can also choose another vehicle and stay in either a tent or a cabin if you don’t fancy driving such a big vehicle. We talked to plenty of people who chose this option.

Overnight Stays:

We chose Top 10 Club membership, allowing us to stay in one of their numerous powered sites across the North and South Islands.

Having never done this before, we needed the extra luxuries.

Travel times

Night-time driving wasn’t an option. Unfamiliar roads and a big vehicle to navigate around meant we drove early each morning to our new destination.

This allowed us to enjoy the rest of the day, knowing our ‘camp’ was close by.
